Ok boys, the semi-finals of the Blade tourney have come around, so I was requested to create the new series thread for you guys to brainstorm.....so get going!

I suggest another no limits tourney, since there's somewhat of an influx of new members that have not tasted the sweet competition that is a free-for-all, or what the league used to be in its high days, for that matter. The themed tourney's are more enjoyable for the older members because we like innovative themes, but a no limits tourney would give newer members the opportunity to test practically ANY AC, without the most likely banned HOHOSHI and LX, of course, among other parts.

I don't know why the LX Cannon is banned. Whenever I have an AI use it, it never gets used. It's really nothing more than dead weight!

As for an idea for a new tourney, how about a Bare Minimum tourney? The rules would be:

-No weapons (except weapon arms)
-No booster
-No Inside part
-No Extension part
-No Optional parts
-No Extended Orbit Cores

A test of one's mastery of the basics, how to properly balance an AC with only its essentials.

LX was banned not really because of it's power but because of it's size, AI is horrible at dodging it. Add that to the stun, heat and damage of it and you have abroken weapon.

Hmm... while I think a no limits tourney would be an awesome chance to show off new builds (one rule could be "no previously displayed designs"), I was leaning towards something... more innovative, since we just had a 2nd blade tourney. For example, energy rifles? I don't know, those things rarely get used.

Still, Jacques has a point. It could be a good opportunity to show the newcomers what we're all about.

Weapon arms tourney would be the showdown of the bz's and the cetus, and maybe a few misslers. All of the other arms are pretty hard to use, so.....it wouldn't be too "innovative." BUT, as always, it IS a possibility, since it would be a battle of AI, if my assumptions about everyone using the same few arms are correct.

And...the "energy weapon only" tourney doesn't sound too bad. Or..if Dark wants to be more specific, the "energy rifle" category. "Energy weapon only" may influence many to use strong back unit weapons like Geryon, Ladon, Skylla, or even the Chimera, to name a few, so that may not be too challenging at all.

wed have to have some mighty restrictions on Legs in an energy tourney, so its not all tanks

Exactly my point...maybe we should just ban the use of tank legs or platforms? I don't know what to do about heavy hovers like Boar's..would they be allowed?

mm....alright. I guess the first "choice" would be Dark's energy-rifle-only tournament. I still need to know whether or not he had every energy weapon in mind...or just rifles like karasawa.

Hrm, actually any energy weapon sounds better. More variety; but I guess we wont see as many back weapons if tanks are banned.

It was just a random thought. If you guys don't like the energy tournament we can think of something else.

Yes, an Energy Weapon Only Tourney with Tank Legs Baned. This would also mean that no one and use the Napalm Insides. Poor Ominia lol

i vote dual weapons tourney. no insides, left and right arms must be the same thing, same for back weapons, lx ban, dual arm weapons are allowed.

Macha-Anime tourny (build acs based on a mech from any Anime or TV Show) with rewards for best-looking, most-like the mech it's based on, and best performance in the tourney.

But sure, I can add that to the list/poll (I'll just make it when I think it should be up).

Edit: How about a tourney with firepower limits? I think that will make the difficulty of the tourney higher...and it can be assimilated into another one of those tourney's instead of standing by itself.
