Haha, Moon Walker. I don't think carnage..or anyone on this board who may run a tourney, will kick out people, because there always seems to be a lack of entrants. But who knows, maybe the new wave of members, which includes you, may flood future tourneys and make the facilitators work a lot more.
Let's just wait for carnage to decide what the rules are, and how the tourney may be carried out.

Well, if you an AIM sn, that'll be much better for communication. But if you don't I'll think up of some things and then either PM you or post it here. (PM might be better so that it'll hit the potential entrants by surprise..and I bet everyone here loves surprises).

ok heres some rules. 1. 2 ACs per entrant. one crest and another mirage or 2 crest or 2 mirage which ever u prefer 2. one kisagari part per AC, does not include optionals 3. all parts must belong to that company, including optionals 4. NO LX 5. champion will fight shovel 6. if tourney winner is in league 1500 credit points will be awarded to winner, if shear allows this.
each ac will be divided into its company bracket so its crest acs duking it out , then mirage acs, then crest vs mirage.
its like both are looking for the best ac to sponsor in a advertisment battle between each other.
so jac since you are moderate mostly involved in this right now, what do you think? others please give me input

Ah...well, I'm digging the fact that mirage AC's have to use mirage opt. parts, and so on...
It further throws people "out of their element," as Tailsnake previously stated.
And..I think, to make it fair, two AC's should indeed be allowed, but one thing is, will there be part sharing? And, personally fearing that everyone will make beefy energy weapon-using slaughter tanks of death, I think (if part sharing is allowed) that an entrant wanting to submit two AC's is limited to making only one tank AC. So I'm thinking.....let's say I'm submitting two AC's. One of them HAS to be a biped or on one of those lighter hover legs...and then other can be either a biped or a tank.
I'll come up with more "comments" soon. But thanks a lot, carnage, this seems to be coming together very well.

alright credit prize will be changed to 5000.
rule 7. no part sharing.
and edit to to prize, if tourney is won by a tank ac prize is reduced to 2500 credits.
that might encourage some to build something else besides tank acs

Tanks won't be overused as long as a few people (like me) decide to design against them.

Well...I think credits won't serve as THAT big of an incentive; I'm sure many people here, including myself, just enjoy the exhiliration of participating in a tourney and entering it for the win.
Hmm....maybe credits will be CHARGED if one is to submit tank AC's. I don't want to ban tanks or anything, because this tourney is about representation, so we should be welcoming a variety. What do you think we should do, carnage, tailsnake, and everyone else?

I can imagine most AC carrying Bazookas on Crest's side, any solution for that? or is it fine by everyone?

Me and carnage (since we seem to be talking the most about the rules here, and will probably take the responsibility of most of the rulemaking, of course, will all of your help as well) will most likely end up having to look at exactly what parts belong to which company (I never paid attention to the companies) and see to the issue. But one way that this issue can be solved is if we made it so that all entrants have to PM, I repeat, PM their designs to us. That way, even if bazookas or laser weapons or whatever is popular, NO ONE will be able to see each others' designs and say anything about them. That way, even if everyone in crest is making a bazooka AC, whoever wins will have made the strongest bazooka and overall capable AC (hope you guys got that). And, if anyone can prove that one company's parts seem to be a lot better than the other, let's just say hypothetically that crest's weapons totally slaughter more than mirage's. Then we might not even have the battle between the companies.
Edit: And I don't think everyone will be making the same AC's around here; people are getting pretty creative with their builds nowadays.

It hasn't started yet...we still need to make a solid set of rules and everything, AND get permission from shear. I think that'll take a while, so sit tight.

Well, looks like this could be official.
Sorry for not posting here guys, since I seem to have taken more interest in the league (kinda opposite to carnage's situation lol).
Hmm... no killer energy-wielding tanks of death, that description sounds like Rex (since it has two, three if you include EO) ;D. Or Widower for that matter.
I would still enter this, given that I have the time...

....it's not that I have a lot of free time, it's just that I have learned how to manage my time fairly well.
*Walks downstairs to get the mail, finds a grade report, opens it with great joy and excitement but only to be beaten down by the humongous F's printed on the page.*
I mean, if I seem to be here "too much," then hmph I've got three katamari damacy games waiting for me to spend hours on.
Haha jk jk. Thanks for the generous rule, carnage. I'm sure people will come up with good suggestions.
Edit: Speaking of energy weapon-wielding tanks of death. My Purist White once had the Selena core, along with its Geryon, and a Karasawa. It's just that it was matched up against V2 and lost 0-3 (ON THE FIRST ROUND OF THE PRELIMS...GRRR, oops, excuse me) that I decided to give it a WH05BP and 83UA for energy conservation and an overall stat boost. Right now, since Purist White is right below TS's Hellish, I'm not going to give it the Karasawa yet or else it'll be smoked. But mark my words, Magus, if Rex Final shoots up the ranks to challenge Mr.White, I'll be sure to give White its Karasawa back with joy. ;D

Yeah... Cerberus (along with Tamer) are really tank killers, Rex doesnt stand a chance against those two mobile ACs unless I mod it specifically to fight them (which I'm not sure I can).

Take a look at orz orz orz in my design hangar. Although it lacks energy weapons (which tanks seem to need for the win), I designed orz x3 to combat close range overheaters...and pretty much all non-tank builds. It's even a formidable opponent against TS's Hellish, because it doesn't use energy weapons, only the Selena (which performs really well at stunning light/midweights).
But I doubt you would modify Rex Final too much, since it's near perfection already. Maybe just some AI tweaks so that Rex Final can track enemies better?

Yea, exactly what I was thinking. I may have to do a temporary tracking mod against quick ACs, then reverse it back into its normal state.
Testing out the top rankers is an enlightening experience... you can see why their ACs do so well.
And I'll take a look at orz after I do a couple matches.

Heh, Magus.....you better get a TON of credits before you do that "quick switch and revert" strategy. You CAN give yourself some help, and that's if you submit Rook as your third AC (so that you can challenge more often...Zero Breaker is just sitting there for the time being for revisions). I mean...it's free, and I would love to see Rook in the league. Come on, man, do it for the credits! lol.

Oh, I'd definitely love to submit Rook.. I could probably kick some tail with it. But, I feel it could use just a bit of modification before it makes its grand debut (ie. improve energy conservation further, little more mobility).
I should do it while its still free (outside of the league).
