I'm pretty sure that everyone will be entering individual AC's to compete with each other.
For example, You, Magus, TS, Shear, Sinner, and I have decided to join this tourney. Carnage will take our names, put it in a hat, and pull out the first three, which will be Crest designers. It happens that you, along with Shear and I, were chosen first. This means that Magus, TS, and Sinner are Mirage designers. Then, all six of us will submit our AC's, and will compete within our own company groups. Let's say Shear just kick both our butts into the ocean with his -insert AC name here-, and Sinner beat both Magus and TS. (It's really better if we had an even number of entrants in each company, so that we can have a bracket). Afterwards, it would be Shear v. Sinner for all the marbles.
Edit: I did not choose those names for any specific reason, and the outcomes that I made up is not supposed to reflect my personal opinion of the capabilities of the people I named above.

umm no i was thinking
everyone designs a crest and mirage design. mirage designs go into mirage bracket and crest go into crest bracket.
its like a an advertisment battle between the two companies. they hold brackets to pick the best design offered to them

AH.....okay I see what you're saying. That's actually better than my idea, heh, glad you came back to.
And nvm about the tank builds; both of the tank leg parts are from Crest, so if people want to use it, then I'm sure it'll be fine. Unless you have more ideas regarding the leg part issue?

Crest has a monopoly on Tank legs but most Tank designs use the Selena core, which is a Mirage part
og and by the by, ive made a Crest Shotgun AC and a Mirage-itized version of Neonia's AC when you battle it the first time for fun, i think i got the AI down pretty well too...

so theres no realy problem with big tank acs. if a crest tank is used, it will have bazookas and grenade launchers, which arent' that popular. and if a mirage tank is used, they will have to use hover legs which consumes alot of energy. so there are draw backs on both sides.
edit: i wrote this half asleep

After looking at the parts and their respective companies (took longer than I expected), I don't think there should be any bans from using any particular part, especially the tank thing.
BUT, I DO think that optionals can be equipped on any AC regardless of companies, since the only good parts that Crest offers are 79+ (increase sight lock) and 71EC (increase EN), while Kisaragi has Marishi and Kangi, and Mirage pretty much has the rest. Since Crest lacks Amino (defense boost), I'm afraid that a lot of people will refrain from making bipeds or just any midweight/lightweight because of the defense deficit. Carnage, what do you think?

I agree with jacques. There shouldn't be any ristrictions on the optional parts. ex.Crest acs can use a mirage optional part and vice versa.Theres a less chance on all the acs to be the same if there are more optional parts. It will bring more challange in the most part.

Sorry, but aren't you starting to go out of the main idea? it was supposed to be Crest Vs. Mirage but then you added KISARAGI's 1 part rule, and now you're going to mix the optional parts?

Well, I'm sorry if the idea sounds ridiculous to you. Let's just hear what carnage has to say, since he's going to be running it when it begins.

just got back from my soccer game and games i had to ref. heres my take
any amount of kisargi optional parts allowed. each company must use their respective company's optionals. this will make each company have draw backs. like for instance.....
crest has alot of solid weapons and defensive body parts. not much of a selection of variable parts. its mostly brute force here
mirage has alot of energy weapons. fast parts, high energy drain parts, plus they only have 2 generators. one of which is the orchid.

Sorry but they have three, ORCHID, MAGNOLIA and LOTUS. Their Radiators are HAZEL, HAZEL2, LINDEN, LAUREL.
Crest lacks good radiators, Mirage lacks generators ( in number not efficiency )

Alright, the man has spoken. So I'm guessing, here an additional rule: Rule #9(?): Any number of optional parts from Kisaragi may be used on either company's AC's. The rest of the optional parts equipped on an AC HAS to be from the company that it represents. So, Crest AC's can use Crest or Kisaragi opt. parts, and Mirage AC's can use Mirage or Kisaragi opt. parts.

---Rules Update--- (all rules have been specified or approved by carnage)
Company Tournament – entrants will submit AC’s representing companies Crest and Mirage, to be supported by a number of Kisaragi parts. Each company will have its own bracket, and the winning design from each company will go head-to-head in a final match.
Rules (still in progress): 1. Each entrant is allowed to enter 2 AC’s, either one for each company or both for the same company. 2. Only one Kisaragi part (not including optional parts) is allowed per AC. 3. Any number of optional parts from Kisaragi may be used on either companys' AC's. The rest of the optional parts equipped on an AC HAS to be from the company that an AC represents. 4. Absolutely and positively NO LX-cannon users allowed. 6. Tournament winner (the architect whose AC wins the final match between the companies) will receive a currently undecided sum of credits and/or *other awards. Bracket winners may also receive credit and/or other awards.
* 'Other' awards may include free stage changes, overhauling discounts, and the like (Jacques' crazy idea to attract more people to join this tourney). Since we have not received shear’s permission for this tournament and do not know how large of a credit award should be given out to the winner(s), such awards are still in pending status.

Sure, no problem. I want to get this tourney started as soon as possible. I hope many others share the sentiment.
BTW, anything else that you feel like you should add before I decide to talk to shear about permitting it?

Sounds good, but i still feel sketchy on the Optional parts, it may end up driving a few people away possibly(i dont mind it...ill just have to take off the opt parts that i have on my ACs that arent from thier own company XD)

I think everyone must make one for both sides to keep it even and fair. Its a lot easier to make a AC with crest parts then Mirage since mirage doesn't have that great generators and most Mirage weapons are energy ones.
But thats just me, My AC designs are usually based on certain things and being restricted in anyway just cripples me I guess. Someone else probably could make theirs work.
I'm still wondering if I'll join in on this tourney. Not thats its bad or anything(I voted for this idea lol), its just have a hard time making AC designs that have deferent attack strategies then the ones I have already made. As I say(not often enough lol) "Build to what type of a pilot you are".

We'll see; I'm sure it'll be pretty balanced.
And I'm also sure that out of respect for the well being of the tournament (for number of AC's of each companys' bracket to be near-even), not many people will make two AC's for the same company.
Bleh, I might be wrong. Again, we'll see.

Hah, it's fine, man. Like I said, I'm most likely going to accept an entrant's AC's via PM ONLY, to ensure privacy protection, since many of the builds (I think) will have similar weapons and/or parts; this IS a company tourney after all.
So, I'm accepting them only over PM as a safe measure, so that no accusations can go around. So if you want me to see your builds right now, PM away!

Thanks a lot for posting those examples. I checked out the Kisaragi build and it seems like the other companies were represented more. After looking at the parts in the game some more, I just realized that Kisaragi hardly has any of the parts that are crucial to building a solid AC frame. I wonder why it was made that way...

Kisaragi has never been a company that focused on AC bodily parts, they make a lot of the good inside parts and Extensions...and of course, parrying blades are monopolied by kisaragi
