I
KNEW
IT
!!!
Edit: I'm referring to the Hohoshi; I figured that the Siren2's had to be complimented by that part.

Meh, I guess a riflier needs the hohshi. Still, I'm interested in seeing oppession in action... seeing its about the first rifle based AC in hte league (not countered retired ones like ZX-Prototype).

BTW, has anyone tried out Oppression yet? I didn't spend as much time with it as I did with other designs, but at least I tried to make a rifler...

I've tried both designs, Crest and League, and I still can't help but feel that rifles don't do enough damage...that's my only concern, is the weapon. But overall, since it's using such lightweight weapons, it's got a great speed advantage over a majority of its opponents. And the AI, even though it's more focused on attacks, still makes the AC keep a pretty safe range from its enemies (at least in my test runs.) The Crest version likes to hover high above ground, and it's pretty cool watching it do that, while firing its rifles like machine guns.

As I said before, I never really tested the crest version. I did my best with the League one to keep it from doing the hovering thing, but apparently the crest version has an innate predisposition to that. And I did my best with the rifles (in the League version). I chose the right arm weapon because it has no magazne, so it spends no extra time reloading. The left arm is there for it's firepower and high mag capacity. Personally, I'm quite roud of Oppression and it's various forms.

Hmm... I like the innovation being brought to the league

Hey...I never tried to say that Oppression is not a good AC or anything. So I'm sorry if it sounded like I was trying to bash your design. Rifles and other less-used weapons definitely need to get explored by a lot more people. You said that you were going to get innovative with your future designs, and I think you accomplished that task well with a dual rifle AC that can sport the Hohoshi and dual Siren2's and still be quick on its feet. Right now, I'm doing some "exploration" with those weapon arms, and trying to see if I can make builds to compliment all of them. So far I've got the quad-barrel bazooka and CETUS down, and they're going to be my entries for the Co. Tourney.

I was just adding to and elaborating upon what you said, as well as explaing some of the things I did to Oppression and why. You didn't sound like you were bashing or anything. lol i think that from now on, we should put at the beginning of each post the tone in which the ost should be read. such as mine. it should be made in an explaining yet sincere manner.

That would just lead to the words 'passive interest' being at the beggining of all my posts

Passive Interest: It could work to clear up some of the arguments we have here...

Um, I think I will stop now. Anyway, great AC you got there, shear!
How long has it been in development?

I just noticed that OMEGA is right on your behide...
But you need not worry though, TAMER and CERBERUS did a good job of bench-ing for OMEGA. So hopefully it will be a worthy opponent for you.

Oppression was in development for like 3 or 4 days. I only worked on it twice, once at the beginning of the week, and once at the end. That equates to about 4 days (days o' week not exact)
I need to get out of omega's path, since a rifler wouldn't stand a chance against an lx user.
and you DO realize that if you leave the beta leagues, you have to remove the lx, right?
And jacques, do you really think that oppression is "great"? Some would say that it sux, due to it's seemingly low firepower. And did you try it out too, rainmaker? (may sound a bit dense since you may have been referring to just that with your previous posts)

Well, looks good from the looks of it. But I'll give more feedback when I see it in action.
Cough start cough challenging cough cough.

No, I didn't try it out yet, "nice" refering to the beauty of it. Looks like it has wings and such.
If you want me to, I will try it out. If not... I'll just watch the action from this distance.
edited:
I didn't mean to submitted OMEGA right on your behide like that and I didn't build any counter Oppression kills into OMEGA, so relax.
But you are right about the rifle being lessen power than the LX cannon and... then there is the rifle vs. armor issue with OMEGA...
But, I am sure you can take "it" down, just pick a OMEGA kill stage.
I am in no way in favor of OMEGA, I just want it to exist.

I would appreciate it if you could try it out. Any feedback on this stretch-of-logic would be appreciated.
And i'll do my best to be able to defeat omega through mods, but I'm not to anxious to begin defending my position.
