BATTLEGROUND: RUS FIELD
Rank 1 Battle
Grid 1 (Challenger): Tamer
Grid 2 (Defender): Cerberus V.2.
From the beginning, the tensions of this battle were extremely high. This was the moment that everyone was waiting for... the match between reigning champ Cerberus V.2. and the revised Tamer; armed with (no pun intended) permanent bazookas. Renowned for having brilliant AIs programmed into their being, these ACs put up one heck of a fight... and neither of them left unscathed.
The terrain advantage was given to Cerberus, the guardian dog of Hell, and defender. Tamer, built with high mobility and energy conservation, did some tight strafes like a pro in order to avoid Cerberus' beastly onslaught. The most impressive aspect of animesou's design had to be the consistent boosting, which still left space for the generator to keep up. In this respect, the advantage of speed was given to Tamer in the fullest sense; constantly outmaneuvering its opponent and showing no difficulty when getting into close range. It moved around the central tower and evaded the bulk of opposing projectiles, gaining the lead steadily on its fiendish foe.
Cerberus was getting pummeled left and right; it tried to retreat, but its AP was being shaved off by Tamer's miniscule shells. The tactic was slow and sure, but the battle was far from over. Cerberus was just getting warmed up.
A barrage of napalm and bazooka attacks later, the menacing quad AC was still alive and kicking. And boy, did it look angry (though it always does--having that red, bloodshot eye and all).
The two ACs circled each other, blasting off attacks equally, but it seemed apparent that Tamer was only toying with its foe. Cerberus' great turning speed barely allowed it to keep up with the 'infinite boost' assault, the mightiest tactic in the formers arsenal.
Tamer was firing off multiple rounds while moving in a delta pattern; an effective strategy as Cerberus couldn't keep up 60% of the time. But that's when the AI started to get smart. Cerberus, having enough of the abuse, released a hohshi from its core and began an awesome counter assault with dual, high damage bazookas. The tide finally started to shift in favor of rainmaker's AC when each of these attacks exploded right on Tamer's core, causing enough critical damage to reverse the AP lead.
The AP counts were separated by about a thousand. It was the moment that rainmaker's AC was waiting for... the moment to show its true colors.
Again taken into close range, both competitors displayed great stamina and turning speed. Tamer tried to regain the edge; but in the end even that proved to be futile. Cerberus maintained mid-range, knocking off Tamer's AP in a final clash.
"Grid 1 AP at 10%"
The loss was inevitable. In the end, the beast gave a final roar as it sunk its jaws into the body of Tamer, ending its life in one fell swoop. The Tamer had failed in its mission to tame the behemoth; and the one called Cerberus dashed from the battlefield, rampant, blood lusting for more foes.

Grid 1 Final AP: 0
Grid 2 Final AP: 4091
Winner: Cerberus V2
Credit Rewards/Comments:
- Cerberus gets 2000cred for AP remaining, maintains the top position in the league. It gets 300style points for showing good turning ability despite napalm attacks/being outmaneuvered, using hohshi with efficiency, and just for showing off awesome battle ability, defending rank#1.
- Tamer gets 750cred minimum, and 300style points for showing off an impressive, near infinite boost. The rarely used bazooka arms (the other type) were also a good show, and the weapons were used with great effectiveness while turning.
- I can see why this is the battle of the top two… both you guys did great. It could’ve gone either way (I tried a few more times and Tamer did succeed in winning once or twice).
