Magus’ Notes- Well, the current trend seems to be that the challenger is placed on Grid 1, so I’ll stick to that. Those concerned about Despair II- I did realize that all optional parts did not fit so I received consent from Sinner to remove the SS optional part accordingly (via messenger). Sinner, if you’re reading this, please update your hangar sometime to reflect the change.
BATTLEGROUND: DIMCAGE TOWN (Defender did not specify favored stage)
Rank 10 Battle
Grid 1 (Challenger): Genocide- Tailsnake
Grid 2 (Defender): Despair II- Sinner
[glow=orange,2,300] Being a match of two highly similar ACs, it was hard to discern who had the lead in a din of fierce exchanges. Genocide took the initiative and boosted around the middle building, determined to track down the twin opponent. Despair II’s quick turning speed allowed it to elude the dark one; as by the time Genocide had arrived it was too little, too late. Sinner’s AC had already foreseen the moment and maneuvered around the structure ahead of time, firing a quartet of bazooka shots towards the back of its hapless opponent.
Genocide, however, was not one to allow itself to be damaged so easily. It spun around and countered with its own shots, each hitting Despair II into the ground with demonic ferocity. The battle was very close, with Despair II lacking the lead by about 100AP. That all changed when it unveiled a secret weapon: the hohshi inside part.
Only one ECM disrupter was placed onto the field, but it made all the difference. Genocide’s heavily armored core began to spark wildly as it bursted with ECM disruptions, but it continued to fire heavy, explosive shells valiantly. One could observe that they exchanged identical attacks like mortal rivals would, never-ending and unrelenting.
Ultimately, the clincher came when Despair II hit the final nail on the coffin: it released its energy EO cores. Genocide, already starting to lose ground, couldn’t stand up to the heat of several solid and energy rounds being fired at simultaneously. Despair II, sparing no mercy in the face of such an admirable opponent, watched with satisfaction as Genocide exploded in a shower of brutal assaults. [/glow]
Length: 0m41s
Grid 1 Final AP: 0
Grid 2 Final AP: 1526
Winner: Despair II
Credit Rewards/Comments:
- Despair II gets 1526 cred for AP remaining
- Despair II gets 300 style points for heating up its opponent constantly, outsmarting it, and crushing it with constant shells/ECM errors.
- Genocide gets the 750 cred minimum, as well as 50 style points for managing to keep up with Despair, and constantly reversing the lead with high dmg bazookas.
- The outcome of this battle really surprised me. I tried the battle a few more times after this and Genocide was able to win… a lot. Oh well, I guess Lady Luck was on Sinner’s side this round.
- PICS. This battle made me realize two things- my cam doesn’t work too well and I’m never going to be a photographer.
