BATTLEGROUND: DIMCAGE TOWN
Rank 10 Battle- Rematch
Grid 1 (Challenger): Genocide- Tailsnake
Grid 2 (Defender): Despair II- Sinner
[glow=yellow,2,300] ‘What goes around, comes around’, should have been the title of this battle. Genocide, Tailsnake’s heavy hitter AC, was back for a second helping of the dish called Despair II. The battle took place in the dull, isolated area of Dimcage Town, but the environment couldn’t be any more than the opposite.
The ACs were bold yet primitive, wasting no time in charging in for the opening attacks. Genocide gained an effective edge, as its bazooka rounds dished out a handful of damage in mere seconds. Comparatively, Despair II’s shots had just about the same impact as tiny gumballs, and were evaded easily.
Then, both of them went on the defensive as they hid behind separate buildings, waiting for some moment to strike; some moment to catch the opponent off guard. That moment came when Despair II leapt out into the open. Genocide acted with lightning quick reflexes, doing a side strafe and firing precise, consecutive rounds. Each one hit with pinpoint accuracy, lowering the opponents’ AP by a respectable margin.
It was then that Despair started to get angry… really angry. Boosting forth at the speed of light, it did an impressive leap and fired both solid and EO shots, which obliterated a large chunk of Genocide’s AP in a short space of time. It looked like it would be a repeat of the same maneuvers that won it the last battle.
Then, backing up, Despair II made a costly mistake: switching to its back-mounted grenade launcher. While powerful and precise, and normally a good finisher, the firing interval just wasn’t good enough to keep up with Genocide’s superb evasion skills.
The match was very close, and tense, as both ACs were dangerously low in AP. Despair II fired a grenade… which connected, heating up Genocide and lowering its AP to less than 600. But, in an amazing display of endurance, Genocide continued its attack, effectively destroying its opponent before it could get another shot in.
One could almost hear Genocide’s laugh as it delivered the finishing blow to the rival AC. “That’s payback for last time.” [/glow]
