That's right people, PSP firmware version 2.5 and 2.6 have been hacked. Kernal mode access is now available on those two firmware versions via the GTA exploit; rather, a modified version of the exploit. This is great news for all you 2.5 and 2.6 owners, since now you have the potential of running our beloved ISOs. check out pspupdates.qj.net for more details |

QJnet is rather slow the exploit has been around for at least 3 weeks now, my friend downgraded his 2.6 PSP with it when we were still in school and he was going on about how cool it was.

yup. that's the downside, but you'll still have the abilty once the loader is released.
And there is no way to downgrade a 2.6 currently. DON'T LISTEN TO TS!!

Dude it was FAKE!!!!
Don't bother calling them. There are tons of vids and such of alleged downgraders, but all are fake; many can actually hurt your PSP. Unless you actually saw them doing it, and saw their PSP after it was "downgraded", don't believe them.

an ISO is a disk image. i.e. it's a file version of the datat that's on a disk, like a UMD or DVD
When an ISO is used to play a PSP game, you're simply playing it off the memory stick (or through USB), instead of from a disk. The legality of ISOs is questionable, but what can I say?

It's working guys; pretty neat stuff.
I was pretty surprised, but the process wasn't too bad. Downgraded from 2.6 to 1.5.
