1.0 EJECT EVERYTHING
When you download items in Safari, they are all easily accessible from the toolbar. You can see them, pause and resume them, and clear them away.
Released on 12/18/10

I downloaded an app called FigTree from the web. It does phylogenetic analysis. The app won't work because it is damaged. I have tried to eject the "device", it ejects but then mounts again. I have done this repeatedly and it justs keeps coming back. I tried doing this with Disk Utility and I get the same result. Does anyone have any solutions?
New: Network drives are now supported- you can enable this in the Preferences window.

By default, your Mac won’t open any software made by “unidentified developers”. This is a security feature called “Gatekeeper”, intended to stop the spread of malware and other unwanted software, but every once and a while a program you want to run fall into this category, showing you a message like saying your program “can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.”
If there are available system software updates, or security updates, install those to the Mac.
Which means, to uninstall an application in macOS, you need only drag the app to the Trash. There is no explicit need to do anything else... in most circumstances, anyway.
This is great for those times when your main installation of OS X isn’t working correctly and you need to boot into a bootable mirror of your OS X install.
Not available
When it does, click the circular black X icon that appears next to it.
Why? Because leaving them only half uninstalled will fill up gigabytes of space on your Mac’s hard drive with useless clutter. And sure you could find a better use for that space. That’s why, until Apple decides to make the right choice and develop a better way to completely uninstall apps on Mac, we’ve prepared some efficient tips and tricks to help you uninstall apps manually and keep the performance of your Mac at its peak, day in and day out.
Disk Utility has had a makeover in the later OS X releases and as a result the way that you repair a disk has changed slightly.
