meh, I can do it. Just....for those who might grow impatient since school is coming and they want results fast, I felt like hurling all day and still do, and I'm perfectly fine with taking care of business myself, but I just need you guys to accept the fact that the first round MAY take a while.
No later than wednesday, though. I'm shooting for tuesday.

Eh, it's okay. Take it easy, and take your time..
You usually do battles very quickly as it is, so there's no need to rush. When you feel better you can do 'em...

Chances are, it won't happen tonight, but the fact that I built the whole team means I've made a lot of progress.
I've taken like....3 naps today, lol.

I don't know...
The "marijuwana" part was something I remember from one of Rex Navarette's (filipino comedian) shows.
Maybe there's a subconscious influence from Famil Guy..

I'm still not feeling 100%, but my stomach has somewhat settled to the point that allows me to pick up my PSP and press buttons without me feeling nauseous. I BELIEVE that I'm feeling better, though, so thanks for your concern.
*Mutters under breath: "that sly Dark....putting curses on me and asking for my health situation...nice try, ya'jerk!"*
Anyway...
THE WESTERN BRACKET MATCHES!!!
Stage: Vortex Mine
Grid 1: DG-XI Grid 2: Raynor
Although the stage seemed to have favored DG-IX and its Wyrm+Skylla combination, Raynor had the upper hand in the beginning. Right off the bat, Raynor was able to consistently pound XI with grenade shells, while getting little of a retaliation from XI, which backed up and lost the ability to lock onto Raynor with its Skylla. Its Wyrm shots, though many of them hit, weren’t able to make a noticeable dent on Raynor. Seeing that its situation had to change, XI decided to dash and jump toward Raynor, sacrificing some AP and making itself prone to overheating. The exchange proved to be rewarding, as XI finally struck DG-XI with a couple of Skylla shots, which drew the two’s APs close to each other. Raynor then made a smart move and decided to descend down the cliff and out of XI’s lock. Both were unable to shoot at each other, until Raynor’s Orchid+B81 boosters kicked into full gear and allowed Raynor to fly above XI, which allowed it to damage XI without getting hurt. XI was unable to get a good enough lock on Raynor to fire its Skylla and hit enough times, and Raynor’s constant assault soon took it down.
Time: 32s Winner: Raynor, with 1897 AP left
~~~~~
Stage: Rawdy Hangar Grid 1: NightFiery Grid 2: d-R-eadxLITE
The terrain and tight spaces in this map proved to be the reason of one of these ACs’ undoing. The match started off with LITE dispensing shell after shell of bazooka and Wyrm shots at Fiery, while Fiery tried to unload a storm of bazooka shells right back but saw them hit the cages and planes instead. It was able to stun LITE with a napalm rocket though, which allowed it to get closer to LITE without getting receiving many hits. Being at point blank range, Fiery was able to unleash its first successful lock of bazooka shells at LITE, which proved to be devastating. Fiery also activated its Uranus EO, and with lightning speed, LITE’s AP was being chipped away. Because of the speed of Fiery and the tight spaces which the two were confined in, LITE was unable to hit Fiery as often as its opponent did it. Seemingly getting bored, Fiery boosted round and round the hopeless LITE, until it got extremely bored, leaped up, and fired the last seven bazooka shells LITE will ever see.
Time: 28s Winner: NightFiery, with 4790 AP left
~~~~~
Stage: Dusk Arena Grid 1: FatedCRIMSON Grid 2: Syfur Both equipped with heavy arsenals, the ACs found themselves in a battle of footwork instead of sheer power. While CRIMSON was trying to close in on Syfur, Syfur had the upper hand and the pleasure to blast CRIMSON’s AP away with 81G and SP shotgun shots. It strived to maintain a healthy range, and gained a strong AP lead early in the match. However, when CRIMSON was able to finally meet Syfur eye-to-eye, it stunned Syfur with a napalm, 81G, and a nice dose of Fairy shots. Syfur’s light legs were unable to withstand the simultaneous hits, and it had to stay put to recover. CRIMSON took full advantage of the situation and began to fire madly at Syfur. CRIMSON’s wicked turning capabilities allowed it to get behind Syfur many times, which aided CRIMSON’s deadly attacks. With its AP plunging, Syfur sought to boost as far from CRIMSON as it could, and although it was successful, it received another 81G and inside napalm rocket shell from the side, which lit it with flames. From afar, CRIMSON could see that Syfur had to stand still to recover from the shock again, and pulled the trigger on its Fairy to release a stream of shells that put Syfur out of its misery.
Time: 25s Winner: FatedCRIMSON, with 5178 AP left
~~~~~
Stage: Soliter Base Grid 1: Sylux Grid 2: Forte
Fenrir fury versus micro-missle maniac; this was the match to see. Held at Soliter Base, both AC’s had plenty of space to do what they needed to do, and this time around, the deciding factor, to my surprise, happened to be one of the two AC’s core part. The match began with Forte going fortissimo (double forte..if anyone reads sheet music) with its micro missles – so many that I couldn’t even count. While I expected all of them to land on Sylux, countless blue beams exploded from Sylux’s core and shot down almost half of Forte’s missiles, while dodging most of what’s left. It returned with two successful Fenrir shots, which took a large chunk of AP off of Forte. The initial encounter acted as a model for the rest of the fight, as Sylux was able to do away with most of Forte’s missiles every time, despite the enormous waves that Forte was able to fire each time. With that, and the amazingly strong Fenrir’s Sylux had the match in the bag since the beginning.
Time: 33s Winner: Sylux, with 3290 AP left
~~~~~
Stage: Vina Parking Grid 1: 57 Grid 2: Sydon
Both heavily-loaded and heavily-armored opponents, the two entered Vina Parking for a violent shoot-out. When the match began, Sydon was unable to nail 57 because of the long range that separated the two AC’s, while 57’s BP bazooka hit with impressive accuracy. Both AC’s decided to boost toward the other, and it is then that the battle started to heat up. As a friendly greeting, 57 and Sydon both hit the other with a napalm rocket and both AC’s were on fire. Sydon, now much closer to 57, was able to fire its mid-ranged bazooka and grenade launcher at 57 to gain an AP lead. It seemed that Sydon was going to make a comeback, until two pods flew out from behind 57. Yasya pods, to be exact. In such a cramped space, Sydon could do little to evade the irritating and powerful Yasya shots, and it allows 57 to retake the AP lead. Sydon was helpless, as pod after pod emerged to further cut its AP down. Its movement was impaired, and it went into overheating as 57 began to get continuous hits with its inside napalms and BP shots. With everything going against it, Sydon could do nothing but collapse under enemy fire.
Time: 29s Winner: 57, with 1947 AP left.
~~~~~
Stage: My PSP Grid 1: NightBlaze Grid 2: Shovel
NightBlaze was stricken with fear as its intimidating opponent, a large, rusted shovel, stood tall and still from afar. “There’s no telling what a shovel can do,” NightBlaze muttered to itself a message that its mother had passed on when he was just a few baby scraps of metal. The announcer then screamed “READY, GO!!” and NightBlaze was about to fall over with fear. Then, it saw the shovel tip off and fall, as a light breeze brushed over its handle and knocked it out of balance.
“Huh, I never expected the shovel to do that; I guess my mom was right.” Nightblaze skipped off merrily and disappeared under the sunset.
Time: The time it takes for me to say “that was stupid” Winner: NightBlaze….duh
Yipee! They both made it past the first round.
...should have entered NightStalker instead of NightFiery... but oh well, NightFiery seems to be holding fine.
I also attempted to use the same micro missle arms you used, bassium, but the main problem with that is that it can be shut down by terrain...range of opponent...opponent's core...opponent's inside weapon (decoys, I'm speaking of), and some other things I can't think about off the top of my head.
It seems that you had other designs to submit, and my advice to you for future competitions is to submit as many designs as you can; it simply increases your chances of winning, IMO (assuming that you worked hard on every design you submit).
Hopefully, the Eastern Bracket matches will be posted tonight.
mm....Atrum, I felt that DG-XI would've had a better chance if it wasn't for the terrain DISADVANTAGE (to my utter surprise...).
And...is Dawn of War an RTS or is it an FPS? Or is it some game that I never knew existed?
