Well, remember I coughed? lol.
I might've said that my AC used harpies just because I think one of rainmaker's AC's will use it.

[deleted] That's right! AHAHAHAHA! I am entering NINE 2X and revised CERBERUS! So you better be ready! Anyway, enough with that. I was going to use the Sayaman (don't remember the name real well) ECM maker but it didn't work out - 5 mins into the test. So much for exploitation, there is no replacement for Hohshi.

Isn't it the Samayan (lol I'm probably WAY off as well)? Anyway....800/900 (I forget) is not good enough for anything...
The problem with this tourney concerns whether one wants to design for the win, or design to stay true to the theme...lemme go design to "design-ed to win" team, lol. jk jk.
Anyway, there are only so many bazookas that rainmaker would choose. He would never take the spreads, because they're a waste of time. However, there are a number of other bazookas that he can use for CERBERUS's right hand (highest attack, or the one with 387 range, or the ligthweight one that Dreadlock used)...and then the standard quality bazooka for the left. I doubt that he would settle for anything less, light sniper rifles or plain rifles.
As for NINE 2X, the name implies that it either has two back units...or two arm weapons this time around. But...two back units seem more probable, because NINE relies on harpies to irritate an opponent while its bazookas do the major damage, which means that the harpies have to always be in use. That would eliminate the two arm weapons idea, unless he's chosen to use a lightweight weapon on NINE 2X's right arm and stuffed an AI chip in there to keep it out of use for 30 seconds or a minute. What may the back part be? Most of the missles add a chunk of firepower to an AC, and rockets need manual aim, which isn't good for a long-range attacked such as NINE. One more thing about this build is that the original NINE had a Gundari and many high energy drain parts, so if rainmaker was to substitute new or more parts for 2X...they would have to have less energy drain.
I think I know what kind of AC can take both of them on...but it wouldn't be too "innovative."
*Moral dilemma*

exactly, "innovation" is being ignored and people are just making small revisions to their old ACs, this might as well be a "redo your Veterans" tourney with some added challenges

Yea . . . I'm having second thoughts about entering this one is everyone is just going to put in their old ACs.
heh Ironicly if I do enter I will most likely be putting in some Old ACs of mine. (Yea this means Ominis and Ominia will NOT be entering this Tourney!!!)
But no one has ever seen them before so Its not quite the same as putting in NINE or Tamer.

It's syamana guys, go back to part school! Lol, jk. Enough theorizing about rain's ACs, I say. We'll just need to build something that can surpass the current versions .

Wow, you guys are taking this quite seriously. Jacques even went to the extend of analyzing every revisions I can make. VERY GOOD JACQUES! You did miss a point I was trying to get across though. Oh well, good luck and see you all in the touranment. What ever it is I have on my card from 3 days ago will be in the touranment. I think the designs are more than prepare for what ever comes.

Heh, I wasn't being too serious about defeating the current versions.
If I know rain, he has a few surprises up his sleeve... the names of his revised ACs might not even mean much ;D.

O-G, I agree with your statement to a certain extent. BUT, there's one thing that we can't avoid with any tourney with limits; architects will still deploy the same strategies that have reaped in some victories, meaning that old recipes for success will always be there, regardless of what weapons an AC can choose from (except for blades, of course). Regarding Rainmaker's NINE - the build is innovative, and I acknowledged it BEFORE the idea of this tourney came out, since it's got 3 different types of weapons (Hohoshi won't get as much credit because it's obviously broken). Even if I set the FPV down to 7000, I think NINE would skim at around 6800. That's coincidental, of course, because I don't think any one of us looked at FPVs much before this tourney. Rain got a lucky break with that build, and I encourage him to enter NINE in this tourney because it's never been submitted to a tourney before, and didn't get much action in the League. Anyway, if this tourney gets a lot of entries and turns out to be pretty popular, and if another one of these was to be held, the FPV will definitely be way below 7000. 5000 FPV would be fun. I guess when people voted for 9000, they didn't realize how many powerful designs were out there coughNINEcoughTamercoughBlueEyescoughRexcough that can slip in without a care about the limits. That, or they voted for 9000 because they knew that it would permit overly powerful designs.
Although the purpose of this tourney might be compromised, I think we can still get a lot out of it, since it's pretty much a free-for-all and succeeded the blade tourney. Maybe my prospect of seeing some AC's with unpopular or less often used weapons will be crushed, but eh, I have an AC that should be the poster boy for this tourney, so I'm happy. ^_^
And regarding Dark's statement about rainmaker - you're quite right. Maybe CERBERUS is using dual nichirins now, and will be renamed Hell Hound! Maybe NINE will be named ONE HUNDRED because it can use a hundred weapons all at once! lol.

What's in a name? Anyway, I welcome the challenge of any previous design(s) and new powerful ACs anyone here can bring. There are not much room left for innovative designs that can make a solid stand, so PLEASE BRING IT! Don't hold back on you builds! There aren't many peopel who enters a touranment planning to lose. Total fire power doesn't say much about an AC anyway, it's just like the AC rating.

i for one can say ive made some builds that are partially inspired by much older ACs, but thats mainly they have a weapon that was used well by previous ACs (i have a quad that uses the Chimera, its inspired by Widower in THAT sense, but its also inspired by Barda[it has a GL] and a couple other ACs ive tinkered with have mingled into this build) and i also have an AC thats a well rounded Version of Fenix, but the only part he shares it the weapon arms(i think) and a slight overall AI the last one...is a fun AC i made that uses a Linear Gun and a Shotty ...hes an interesting build to say the least lol ill post them up after my soccer practice if i have time

Linear gun and a shotty....could it be the AC that we were supposed to work on, O-G?

they arent back parts, im talking bout the 80 shot R Arm Linear gun and the shotty Firefly uses, cant remember the name...i think its the SP? Edit: and we all know dual Solid weapons leaves plenty of evergy to jump around

The right arm linear gun? I'm assuming that's the lighter one, and not the 3-clip linear gun. That, along with the WH01SP...that's only around 1300 weight units (I don't know if it's pounds...). If you strap that onto a biped with one of your favorite boosters without an inside weapon....it might have boost power around the mid 300's. It's not going to be as crazy as Tamer's old....near 400 boost, but it's gunna "jump" a lot, all right.

Post by O-G on Aug 9, 2006 17:41:35 GMT -5
actually its almost 2k weight units, its like 700 for the Linear, and 950 on the SP

Post by Purist on Aug 9, 2006 19:01:50 GMT -5
...the SP shotgun's only 691. 93RL linear rifle's got 688. So tops...you've got 1400.

lol, a shotgun with near 1000 weight units (pounds?!?!?!!!?!?!) would be terrific.
It would come with something like...700-900 attack. For a shotgun? SWEET.
