Okay, just got this game today. I talked to the village elder... now what should I do?  I want to do some hunting but I just got killed fighting some monsters with the default hunting blade... lol. |

keep doing the elder's quests, trust me, you'll learn the ins and outs of the game through him. Come here if you need any help.
BTW stay away from the guild until you've at least killed a Gypceroc.

Tail what kind of weapon is that sword is it a sns or a gs,and what lance are you talking about so i can GO MAKE IT.Oh and yea dark only do the elder quest for now the monster in the guild hall have like 3~4x more hp then the one the elder gives.

BTW Gasu the weapon is the final dragon lance, just follow the basic bone lance path until yu get to dragon spear and go from there

Well I'm done with ruststones, I found a complete weapon chart for MHF and it looks like SnS and DS rust and ancient weapons are the only ones worth it (for the dragon damage).

1104 damage isn't worth it, The finblade can take down a Kut-ku faster. Look for something with better elemental damage like the Rising Kaiser or the final form of the red wing (816 damage and Fire element of 740 - can't read the name cause the site I use is in japanese)

I like it, it's sharp and easy to craft. The elemental blades dull too quickly, and those powerful ones are too far away. I'll just do what its most useful.

Lol, the game is fun but I've only played the meat gathering mission so far.
It was silly because it took me a while to figure out I had to sheath my sword to get the meat...

Also, when I get the Legendary SnS, should I keep it at that, for its pure attack power, or go for Eternal Strife, for its tremendous Dragon elemental?

there are better blade out there than th lsns. such as the wolf blade.

I love this game I'm finally getting some weapons I really like (finblade, eager cleaver)
I just need a few more parts for the oblivion and the first level of the dragon spear I described earlier. Why can I get a monoblos heart to make the master's blade!

I've moving through this game at a very slow pace... Just killed those three velociprey at the beginning . I think it's gonna be a long time before I see new weapons/armor. PS. Shear, in the thread description it says "Monster Humter".... |

Also, how do you get Garuga Wings? They're the one Garuga part I can't seem to get.
And Dark, try going for the Bonespike SnS, it's pretty cheap, and the parts are easy to come by:
Bone Kris -> Bone Kris+ -> Bonepick -> Bonepick+ -> Bonespike
From Bone Kris to Bonespike, the total cost is 5661z, requiring 21 Sm Monster Bones, and 30 Sm Bone Husks, both of which are easily found in Forest & Hills.
Alternately, you could make an Assassin's Dagger, which costs 5457z total, and only needs 11 Iron Ores, and 9 Earth Crystals. These materials are slightly more rare, though.
Either way is fine, and both make great starting weapons.
