Post by Shark on Mar 15, 2006 21:44:20 GMT -5
That's correct... a very intelligent chimpanzee with an AI of 75, able to wield energy weapons.
BEWARE. If you see this chimpanzee call 1-800-267-2001

Lol, from what I've seen so far Arctic and Security seem to be real contenders.

I agree with you on Security; it's got great offense and defensive stats for a lightweight, and Arctic for its Demon+Argos combo, though I think it's not the only AC entered with that set of weapons. The allowance of the Demon really toughens the competition. I believe that many of the contenders seem to be evenly or closely matched, mostly due to the weapon restrictions and the few distinct styles of builds. But the fact that there is a weight limit really cuts down on the defensive capabilities of the AC's, so I think AC's with a/all energy weapon(s) have a slight advantage if it's got a stable amount of energy.

Don't forget that solid users have a fair amount of attack heat.
BTW I said Arctic because it has dual pulse, Orchid, and energy OPs while maintaining decent speed.

Battle 1 Grid 1: ColdFlash Grid 2: Enigma The tournament started with a bang, both ACs knew that their performances would set the pace for the rest of the tournament and they were both ready to perform. There was little strategy in place here, both ACs attacked relentlessly. ColdFlash’s Demon was the real culprit in this battle causing well over 5000AP worth of damage as the ACs came into ridiculously close range. The battle ended with a deadly long shot from ColdFlash’s demon, Enigma barely even had a chance to get into his groove.Length: 0m27s Grid 1 Final AP: 3330 Grid 2 Final AP: 0 Winner: Cold Flash Battle 2 Grid 1: Love Grid 2: The Infinate Both ACs took off like a storm, strafing each other in a circular pattern. The Infinate struck first, hitting Love with a small burst from its twin handguns; then it retreated. From then on, the battle was a blur, with each AC attacking in finite assaults then boosting behind the opponent. It became so intense that the fight was taken to the roads of Dewlite City, and both Love and The Infinate struggled to locate each other in the midst of a jumping competition. Then they toiled in the waters again, when it became an all out shootout between two cowboys with twin pistols. Sparks flew as Love and the Infinate shot at each other, and at some points the latter would try to escape by jumping up, but neither would fall back on their unrelenting assault.
The battle was now 0893 to 2670. The screen lit up with the words “HIT!” extremely largely, indicating the massive damage that both ACs were inflicting. It was then that the battle ended abruptly. The Infinate switched to its peryton hanger unit, using a few pink energy blasts to signify the death of Love. Length: 1m15s Grid 1 Final AP: 0 Grid 2 Final AP: 2166 Winner: The Infinate Battle 3 Grid 1: GraniteRun Grid 2: AquaFlash This battle began as a one-sided match for AquaFlash, taking advantage of GraniteRun’s numerous rigidlandings to send damaging blade waves but the battle quickly changed pace at the 30 second mark as AquaFlash changed strategies and sealed it’s own fate. GraniteRun took no damage from the 29s mark until the end of the battle while it slowly chipped away health from AquaFlash. By the end of the battle the promising AquaFlash was was a helpless purple piece of metal trying to escape from the constant onslaught that was GraniteRun.Length: 1m54s Grid 1 Final AP: 2461 Grid 2 Final AP: 0 Winner: GraniteRun Battle 4 Grid 1: Valkyre Grid 2: Apocastasis A pathetic shadow of an AC walked into the battle, it was called Valkyre. Fans were in awe “how could the league allow scrap metal like that to walk into the ring” they thought. Valkyre stared at his opponent, Apocastasis. The ACs both waited for the announcer to say it, the words that had brought them many a sleepless night “READY!” and they were of like two shadows in the water Valkyre pounced on Apocastasis with near inhuman ferocity, Apocastasis was in shock there was nearly no physical damage was apparent, but the damage to it’s AP was well over 4000 and the battle had only just begun. Both AC took flight Valkyre had to pause to drop it’s dual Preytons and switch weapons, this pause was what Apocastasis had been waiting for – It attacked with all it’s might but it couldn’t return the damage that Valkyre caused in the first few seconds of the fight. Valkyre was not being battered with shots and it took to the pillars for defense. Apocastasis was not the type of AC to give up and it chased the garbage heap that was Valkyre. Valkyre and Apocastasis did a dance in the pillars chasing and jumping while exchanging shots, it was almost beautiful. Apocastasis was forced into a temporary retreat back into the open – it was a blessing and an omen. Valkyre was pelted with shots as it came into the open after Apocastasis but it was too late, in a few shots Valkyre sealed the deal and finished his opponent. Valkyre walked away from his dying opponent, he had no time to see him off, he had no time to worry about his appearance, all he could do was sharpen his blades for his next battle…Length: 0m49s Grid 1 Final AP: 1909 Grid 2 Final AP: 0 Winner: Valkyre Battle 5 Grid 1: Dagger Grid 2: The Exalted The bitter rivalry that was founded in the last tournament, between the architects Tailsnake (Golden) and Sinner, was once again revived in a match between them. Dagger activated itself, immediately lunging at its opponent with blinding speed, moving in a slight zigzag motion. It fired powerful, unending, yet slow shots with the superior firepower of its handguns. The Exalted countered masterfully with effective peryton blasts followed by roc pelting. It was when the two finally were face to face did the tide of the battle shift.
Dagger’s solid ammunition proved more effective than The Exalteds formidable, yet light energy beams. The combat was taken under the bridge, where the Exalted now gained the advantage. Now at a lead of over 1000ap, it literally ran circles over its opponent until everything was over. Length: 1m05s Grid 1 Final AP: 0 Grid 2 Final AP: 1658 Winner: The Exalted Battle 6 Grid 1: Arctic Grid 2: Blacklash Another seemingly one-sided battle ending in upset. The Favorite, Arctic was a energy behemoth, sporting dual pulse rifles (one of which was a dual pulse rilfe), the Orchid generator, and Energy optional parts. Blacklash is a smaller Ghost2/mist2 user. Anyone watching the battle could see that it seemed like something Blacklash couldn’t win, but they would’ve been proved wrong. Both AC exchanged blows equally until Blacklash was finally able to overheat Arctic and cause it to run out of EN. Once Arctic’s EN charge was activated it’s fate was sealed, it couldn’t win the battle.Length: 0m52s Grid 1 Final AP: 0 Grid 2 Final AP: 2689 Winner: Blacklash Battle 7 Grid 1: Hate Grid 2: Neon Rat Hate started off strong, beginning the battle with a jump and overboost combination. It dodged Neon Rat’s vicious bites while pelting out several bursts of its own. Neon Rat managed to use the terrain as a shield, while effectively holding it’s own over the shadowy opponent. Hate consumed energy faster than a can of coke, using the overboost maneuver in conjunction with energy draining weapons. Things looked even for both ACs are they exchanged a volley of energy attacks, but alas, he who had the higher AP won in the end. Hate, having a strong problem with rigid landings, couldn’t keep up, exploding instantly after a particular roc shot. Length: 0m43s Grid 1 Final AP: 0 Grid 2 Final AP: 4506 Winner: Neon Rat Battle 8 Grid 1: SnapDragon Grid 2: KingoPrussia A battle between two equal ACs, they traded blows evenly throughout the match both using blades and handguns. Snapdragon was forced to us it’s EN charge a few times and KingoPrussia missed a critical hit that could’ve changed to course of the battle near the end. Kingo scored multiple hits with it’s blade throughout the battle causing 3500AP worth of damage but it just couldn’t keep it’s eyes on SnapDragon which ultimately proved to be it’s own destruction.Length: 1m41s Grid 1 Final AP: 943 Grid 2 Final AP: 0 Winner: SnapDragon Battle 9 Grid 1: Security Grid 2: Chimp From the get-go, the bout between these ACs was a fierce one. Security fired off shots of wraith like a mindless robot, while Chimp only mimicked the shooting motion with its own energy weapons. Chimp effectively utilized the dual shooting effect of its lethal demon pulse rifle, but in the end even that would not slow animesou’s AC down. Security, excelling in stability and defense, merely shrugged off the little attacks in tandem of shredding Chimp’s AP with quick, successive double strikes.
On the surface, it appeared that the grey AC called “Security” would emerge victorious. But, in an amazing display of power, Chimp pressed on, never letting up in its demonic-hyper-jumping-monkey-toying-with-energy-weapons-like assault. Each blast was like a spectral demon with twin fangs, biting viciously into the AP of the opponent. Length: 0m26s Grid 1 Final AP: 0 Grid 2 Final AP: 4688 Winner: Chimp Dark comments: The first round wasn’t too surprising, with the exception of the last battle. It was like déjà vu from the confrontation of Carnage’s Axel and Big Red. Carnage once again made an impressive performance, knocking out one of the strongest competitors. On the other hand, I give my condolences to animesou and Security, as they were promising competitors just met with unfortunate circumstances. Tailsnake Comments: Now before anyone starts to suspect that I don’t like Dark, he wanted me to make his AC sound bad in the description, now for my thoughts: I was really surprised, the two ACs that I thought would likely dominate were defeated and Sinner lost 4/5 ACs in one round. On the bright side both Dark and I advanced to the next round. Carnage, like always, performed well even though he was the underdog. I really can’t wait to see how the rest of this, THE FINAL TOURNAMENT, turns out.

That thought was made before the battles were conducted.
Still, it's too bad that those favoured ACs lost out in the 1st round. Personally I didnt expect to make it past round one.
