Second four battles. I do realize there are still a few battles left, and sorry for that; but this is just to satiate the hunger that lurks. BATTLEGROUND: IGOL ISLAND Round 1- Part 2Battle 5Grid 1: Hornet- tealwolf Grid 2: Yang- O-G A surprisingly intense fight between relative newcomer, Tealwolf, and board veteran O-G (of Barda fame). Tealwolf’s AC packed a surprising punch, even more impressive considering it weld the less common ghost2 and mist2 handguns. Yang wasn’t really fazed, though, as bullets blurred across the screen. It fought back with an almost equal rate of fire.
Weight was a slight advantage in this epic but drawn out battle. Hornet was able to zip around with ease thanks to a set of versatile parts. It let loose of flurry of attacks but even then damage was slow and didn’t amount to much. Smarter tactics were used eventually as the black AC, Yang, overboosted in consecutive intervals. Yet, with the turbot shields equipped nothing could snuff out Tealwolf’s Hornet, who was on fire.
Time passed by like the wind and Yang was reduced to firing on one arm, while using a hangar blade on the other. The blade attacks, however dispersed they were used, unfortunately could not connect. Although it was clear now that Hornet had a 99.9% of winning, the clock chimed and the match was over. Length: 3m00s Grid 1 Final AP: 2165 Grid 2 Final AP: 62 Winner: HornetDark’s Commentary: Simply great battle. I did not expect this type of performance from Teal, but congrats on your 1st victory (Hornet is surprisingly well programmed). It was funny how it ended just as Yang was in its last inch of AP…. Battle 6Grid 1: Astroman- animesou Grid 2: Yin- O-G Literally seconds into the match, Astroman ran out of energy and had to recharge. That only proved to be a minor setback, though, as the oddly-colored hovering wonder continued an endless barrage of heavy shots. The H3 handgun, renowned for its stun, effectively put Yin in its place. Stunned by not yet defeated, Yin fought back and did so fairly well with the demon at hand.
When all was said and done, there really wasn’t much else to see. Astroman’s amazing turning speed led to an efficient victory—barely getting scathed in the remainder of the battle. Length: 0m59s Grid 1 Final AP: 4279 Winner: AstromanDark’s Commentary: The H3 handguns and a hover combo is downright effective. I tried something like this once but never did get it to work out. Battle 7Grid 1: PASS OR FAIL Grid 2: Ominia This one got off to a fairly slow start, as both ACs literally walked at each other to commence the battle. PASS OR FAIL gained a narrow edge for a while and Ominia was stopped dead in it’s tracks. Then, through much of the remaining time they exchanged near-identical energy shots, swapping blow for blow. Seemingly, these contenders were about near-equal in terms of firepower and AP, yet somehow POF’s lightning fast attacks seemed to deal more stunning damage. Ultimately, this proved decisive to crown the winner who only won by a narrow margin.Length: 0m41s Grid 1 Final AP: 1517 Winner: PASS OR FAILDark’s Commentary: Wow… totally unexpected. Is this bigjon’s first victory? I don’t mean to sound offensive, actually, because I was pleasantly surprised by PASS OR FAIL’s skills. Battle 8Grid 1: Ominis- AtrumCustodis Grid 2: Red Arms- Moon Walker The two opponents look as though they were sizing up one another, as they moved around in circular motions. Ominis came off as slightly faster, able to shoot at the opponent at multiple angles and multiple times, effectively stunning it. For the remainder of the match this continued to occur frequently, and as much as Red Arms would’ve liked to, it couldn’t deal very much damage to an opponent on gull2 boosters. Damage dealt on both sides was very minimal, every attack only dealing a tiny fraction of damage. Hands of Time looked like it was making a slight comeback, but just then it was cornered; and the unpredictable occurred:
AREA OVERLength: 2m21s Grid 1 Final AP: 3239 Grid 2 Final AP: 1863 Winner: Ominis (default)Dark’s Commentary: So unpredictable…. after a long, tough fight animesou’s prediction came true: Red Arms actually area over’d and fell off the cliff. Sorry Moon, a bit of bad luck there.

im feeling a sinking feeling right now...
Barda wasnt exactly my Trumph card of this Tourney...i dont think?
lol, i've been proven wrong that i thought my Demon use would be my best XD, so far hes done the worst of my ACs (cries)
unfortunately, probably the main reason for this is because i didnt have Igol Island on my PSP due to the fact that my memory had to be wiped lol...so that may be whats the biggest problem...

Wow, I didn't know that anime's AC was dual-wielding H3s -- great power, decent range, TONS of ammo...and don't forget the rapid firing speed. This could be trouble...
Also, congrats, Tealwolf, on Hornet's victory. Same goes for anime, Atrum, and BIGJON (PASS OR FAIL...lol I love the way you name your ACs).
And, for the first time, I read about an AC falling off the cliff...very unfortunate the battle had to end that way.

Ah... sorry about your losses, but at least Ominis is still in.
I'll be finished round 1 in a few minutes (I think...), so while I'm at it I think I'll do the 2nd round matchups as well.
Atrum, do you want to help do some of those battles?

Finally, the last two bouts of round 1. Sorry bout the wait, the next matchups should come later. BATTEGROUND: IGOL ISLAND Round 1- Part 3Battle 9Grid 1: Avarice Grid 2: Barda V.LW Easily the most tense of the first round matches, the AP scores in this one juggled more than a clown tossing balls. Things started off stable enough, with Barda having a solid margin of AP over Avarice as they went into shootout mode. Avarice was a bit conservative, floating around here and there but still using the dual wraiths whenever it got a complete lock. However, this combo was far less damaging than that of a ghost2 and peryton combo. Barda maintained the lead theoughout a fair part of the match, but at times Avarice would get rapid combos on its opponent in the blink of an eye. It was then that the tide of the battle started to change.
Barda ran out of peryton ammo and thus was at a range and shot disadvantage; having only the ghost2 and a blade to work with. Stepping in with calm grace, Avarice fought on boldly and the results truly paid off. It snatched back the lead quickly; and maintained it for a long while.
But Barda had other plans…
Sneaking behind the opponent with hidden grace, it stabbed the opponent viciously in the back with an LB3 blade. Avarice cursed, its AP dropping to an evident low…
It looked like the end for the floating one. Yet, even then, it managed to pull a rabbit out of the hat after a couple of shootouts. Well-timed shots and surprising agility allowed it to secure the win until the announced “Time Out”.Length: 3m00s Grid 1 Final AP: 2597 Grid 2 Final AP: 1506 Winner: Avarice (default)Dark’s Commentary: So, Avarice did win… looks like innovation counted. Nice floating tactics, definitely unique. Barda V.LW just didn’t live up to the shadow of its former self. Battle 10Grid 1: Mosquito Grid 2: Black Arm Mosquito glided smoothly across the terrain, strafing here and there and avoiding shots like a pro. It’s extension shields gave it a much needed boost in defense, one that Black Arm had a lot of trouble getting through. Just as previous other bladders had, BA was put at a disadvantage due to having a shortage of firepower. In spite of this, Black Arm made very effective use of the blade it had—almost landing several swipes and even sneaking one or two direct hits in.
The match was now nearly a tie but Mosquito wouldn’t give up its ugly persistence, much like a real insect would. The continual bullets stung like a constant rash, but alas, when things looked bleak, Black Arm landed yet ANOTHER direct slash, tossing up the outcome of the match again.
It looked like BA could win. Finally, though, Mosquito came out on top when it all came down to the bitter end.Length: 2m28s Grid 1 Final AP: 845 Winner: MosquitoDark’s Commentary: I’ve never seen a blader this good in a gun match, and I really do mean it. It was a shame, though, because the slashes couldn’t keep up with rapid fire. My condolences to Moon who lost out this time, and congrats Teal for surprising yet again. These are some of the most solid ACs from a newcomer I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been here since the start…. Other Comments: Lol, you guys crack me up with your comments (Mom, he’s torturing me again ).

Man, Laeq, my visions have become a reality.
Vega v. Avaric --- Defense v. Speed.
And I guess my other two ACs are matched up against tealwolf's. Strong competitors he has...I'm very happy to see he's pwning in his first tourney. (Maybe he's a vet at another board we don't know about!!! >.>)

mmm, like I said before, Laeq, your AC has a good chance of winning.
I sacrificed speed for defense for this "lightweight" AC, and that may be the downfall of this coulda-"hella"-faster version of Blacklash. I hope my two other ACs can handle tealwolf's okay; it'd suck to get all three of my ACs KOed in the second round.
