Heh, sorry but I disagree with you there, I myself am curious on what my opponents are capable off, if you don't like spoilers don't look! simple as that, whoever forced you to?

I have to agree with Moon... if you can't handle the truth, then don't take a peek at it . Simple as that. I thought it would be a plus just to give people a general sense of the builds of others, so they don't have to go beating in the dark about what their opponent (s) are capable of. ON TOPIC: I guess I should be getting to that next round, huh? Alright then.

Heh, I can only suggest we finish the tourney and give it a break for a while till we can get the league going, if I have to withdraw my hanger and become a mod for it to start then I'd gladly do so.

I'm sure we can get a ton of people to participate in the new league... it's just the fact that we have to keep at it and not go for a couple weeks and quit...

lol like ACFF 2 ... maybe with some more modifications... like be able to modify weapons (ie sacrifice energy consumption for attack power)... I dunno, just throwing ideas out there. And maybe have it so there's like online of some sort where we can personally watch our guys in action and have a third/fourth person watch. yea... that would be sweet... or have a 1v1v1v1 match... that would be insane...

Geeze.... not bothering to be obscure about it, eh? Well I guess you and others are anticipating the end soon.
I got it done.... but I'm deliberately holding it off to make people suffer! Muahaha!
Seriously... I think I'll wait for a bit til I post it *whistles*
ON TOPIC: How should the semi-final matchup and auto-advance be decided? The regularly "highest AP" or random draw?
If it's the highest AP I'm not sure if Yoga should be included, since it just got an autoadvance.

Post by Purist on Oct 9, 2006 23:33:21 GMT -5
Make it the second highest. Or...something.
I mean, auto-advances SHOULD be granted based on how well an AC performs, therefore, with Yoga out of the picture (since it didn't battle), the AC finishing off with the next highest AP SHOULD get the auto. Which means my chances of losing are even higher! >.>

Here we go again... Round 3. You might be wondering about the absence of pics; well personally I thought it was a bit of a waste of time to go through every battle taking snaps. So, I resolved only to do them in the first round (so that you can see the various contenders), and semi-finals/finals.
Anyway...yeah... I thought about the 2nd highest too, so that it is @_@.
ROUND 3- IGOL ISLAND
Battle 1 Grid 1: Astroman- animesou Grid 2: Ominis- AtrumCustodis I would call this a battle, but from the beginning it seemed like a very one-sided child's game. Astroman literally toyed with the opponent, zipping around here and there with unbelievable speeds while keeping constantly out of sight. It managed to run laps around the opponent, but mostly stayed at its rear firing high heat shots courtesy of the H3 handguns.
Ominis could barely budge as it was constantly being heated up, but put up a valiant effort nonetheless. Most of the shots that it fired were either missed or in vain; countered by an even tougher barrage of shots.
Having drawn out the affair long enough, Astroman deftly put an end to the fight without any care for a change in tactics.
Length: 1m52s Grid 1 Final AP: 6530 Winner: Astroman Dark's Commentary: I got nothing on this battle. Seemed like a typical shootout to me, and now I'm used to seeing Astro sneaking up behind the opponent.
Battle 2 Grid 1: StainRedVega- Purist Grid 2: NuChallenger- Purist Just as the announcer finished yelling “GO!!!”, these ACs didn't waste any time in attacking one another. Shots were exchanged across the screen like wildfire, some energy, and the others solid, but both looking equally as fierce. One could almost feel the intensity as they came very close to each other, now using no or minimal effort to aim at point-blank range.
Somehow, SDV managed to escape from the deathtrap with blinding fury. It took off around the island with rage in its eye, shooting off shells with deadly precision but also managing to keep a level head so as to avoid opposing attacks. At this point, it didn't even seem like a competition anymore. Vega was on a roll and kept up the storm like there was no tomorrow, yet with the sun looming in the horizon it felt like time to end the battle soon.
NuChallenger seemed unstable as it barely got any energy blasts in while taking in damage itself, and never once did it shake off the feeling. StainRed was vicious in the end game, leaving no trace of the opponent in a hail of destruction.
Length: 1m16s Grid 1 Final AP: 2293 Winner: StainRedVega Dark's Commentary: Good battle, again probably one of the better ones I've watched in the LW2 tourney. Although, a bit surprising since NuChallenger appeared like the favored one. Truth be told, Vega dominated most of the time; and any damage by Nu was not because of total # of shots but the sheer power of the demon2/argos combo.
Battle 3 Grid 1: PyroYogaBlue Grid 2: PyroYogaGreen PyroYogaBlue floated onto the island with a shocked look on his face, believing that he had turned green for no apparent reason. He started yelling, screaming, and hovering randomly trying to rid himself of the curse that plagued him, until purportedly committing suicide down the nearby cliff. Then, he came to a startling realization just as he hit the ground: he was actually colorblind, and that he was neither green or blue but brown.
Yoga died a uneasy death...
Length: 0m00s Grid 1 Final AP: 0 Winner: PyroYogaBlue (autoadvance) Dark's Commentary: Yeah... just some stupid story I made up....

Lol, in my eyes it looks like the odds are still in your favor.
Yoga and Astro are similar in strategy... seems like you're the only one on the boards who is capable of getting more than one AC into the final rounds.

HUGE FLUKE that Vega got to survive that battle. I tested around 15 times yesterday and it only won 3 times because it was able to get Nu charging early and all the shots connected so they hit rapidly like machine gun hits. Pyro's more conservative than Nu (I think), so it may be difficult for Vega to overheat early, but since it's got the Walrus2 and it has extremely high boost heat numbers, Vega has a bigger chance of winning. Ha, and thanks for the comment; I'm glad that all those hours I took away from school actually paid off.

Heh heh, no, probably just because Purist if a fan favorite..... heh, just because you're the only female here doesn't mean most will support you for that.
Hmm, I think there's still hope for Purist not winning this one as well, yes I'm supporting Animesou, but indirectly, just because I don't want Purist winning this one.

d00ds... Purist became a fan favorite? Lol.
Personally, while I enjoy Purist's fights I'm not exactly a fan of anyone.
Anime seems to make some of the more interesting tourney ACs, though.
