I actually started this a lot later than I stated, unfortunately. But, things are progressing better now and I'll have at least the semi-finals soon despite being so late @_@>

Semi-Final Match

Grid 1: StainRedVega- Purist
VS
Grid 2: PyroYogaBlue- Purist
An unexpected development came from the first few seconds of the match; PyroYogaBlue snatched a considerable lead thanks to the damaging output of it's pulse rifles. Terrain then played its hand in the forthcoming events, which left both ACs on the opposite ends of the angular, central board.




Some passiveness aside, StainRed popped out of the woodwork like a chameleon; but failed to take the opponent by surprise. The two met with a fierce clash of firepower, both sides receiving nearly equal damage. Despite being on the losing end SDV almost appeared calm and collected. It continue a constant bombardment of handgun fire, and eventually, this proved to be worth the inflicted cost.



PyroYogaBlue was starting to feel the effects of the heat, as evidenced by its slowed down responsiveness. Then-swift counters were now replaced with long, stalled bouts of submissiveness, and Vega took maximum advantage of the situation. Rapid fire shots were flung around the battlefield faster than dog could down a steak, effectively turning the tide for the first time.




The endgame took the intensity up a notch. Soon, it became evident that high defense came with a hefty price, and SDV was sent into charging after drawn out periods of shield-raising and boosting. The chance was pretty much begging for Pyro to begin exploiting it, however, Vega wouldn't allow this vulnerability to be taken advantage of. It displayed defense via leaping tactics, and these worked just as well as its regular boost would.

Things bit down to the wire looking closer than one might expect. The two exchanged shots as normal, each progressing downward at a near-identical rate of AP. As such, even three or four shots could make all the difference between being on the winning and losing end.




More then just a little often the sound of Vega's generator charging popped up at inconvenient times. As much of a setback as running out of energy was, Vega still proved to be more than a worthy opponent as the end drew nearer. And nearer.

The AP was going by like haywire as numbers were subtracted off the screen. 1300 Vega. 1200 Yoga. 1100 Vega. 1000 Yoga. 900 Vega.

These numbers were, of course, figurative but that was really how close of was. Til the end a winner was not inherently clear; yet it came about faster than one could say “Bang!” three times.

Vega blew off the smoke rising from its ghost2 handgun, as a large hunk of metal full of led fell before it.

Dark's Commentary: The ending seriously left me hanging until the very last second, with the tables turning so many times. Didn't expect a battle of this caliber from these two; somehow I was expecting SDV to win more easily. Nonetheless, this concludes the semi-finals, leaving Vega to battle Mr. Astro in the finals. Good luck to both contestants. Check out the close AP chart/graph...

WOW.....there were at least SIX shifts in lead for this battle (not counting the one that results in Vega's win). What an exciting read it was. Vega could've lost with one pulse hit, and I was surprised that there wasn't as much mentioning of Yoga's energy problems and charging troubles as I thought there would be.

'guess I gotta face animesou in the finals for the first time.

Hmm, I think the next battle will be saved for tommorow... just for the sake of drawing out the suspense (Makes victory all the sweeter, eh? Lol).

Hopefully it won't be a repeat of the drawn out affair which I created today, so that more people can actually witness it .
